Equipment

  • Cast-iron skillet (10–12 inches recommended)
  • Rolling pin (optional, for shaping dough)
  • Spatula for serving

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 20 –25 slices pepperoni
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano optional
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Prepare the Skillet
  • Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add olive oil to coat the bottom. Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a circle slightly larger than the skillet and carefully press it into the pan, allowing the edges to climb up the sides.
  • Pre-Bake the Crust
  • Cook the dough in the skillet for 2–3 minutes until the bottom begins to crisp. Remove from heat.
  • Add the Sauce and Toppings
  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Add the cooked sausage and pepperoni slices, then top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake the Pizza
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • Garnish and Serve
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with dried oregano or fresh basil leaves if desired. Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
