Baking sheet
Mixing bowl
Pastry brush (optional)
Knife (to cut the dough)
- 1 batch of pizza dough or breadstick dough store-bought or homemade
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons pesto store-bought or homemade
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil or parsley chopped (for garnish)
- Salt to taste
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and minced garlic. Stir until the garlic is evenly distributed in the butter.
Prepare the Dough:
Roll out the pizza dough or breadstick dough onto a lightly floured surface. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips (about 1-inch wide and 6-8 inches long).
Brush with Garlic Butter:
Place the dough strips on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are slightly spaced apart. Using a pastry brush, generously brush each breadstick with the garlic butter mixture.
Add Pesto:
After brushing the breadsticks with garlic butter, spread a thin layer of pesto over each breadstick using a spoon or knife.
Bake the Breadsticks:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and cooked through.
Garnish and Serve:
Once the breadsticks are out of the oven, sprinkle them with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil or parsley. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
