Prepare the Shrimp:
In a shallow dish, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
In a separate shallow dish, beat the eggs.
In another shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
Coat the Shrimp:
Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, coating it evenly.
Then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by the panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs stick.
Repeat with all the shrimp.
Fry the Shrimp:
Heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a large frying pan or deep fryer over medium-high heat (about 350°F).
Fry the shrimp in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Make the Hot Honey Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes (if using), and butter.
Heat over low to medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the sauce is smooth and well combined.
Toss the Shrimp:
Place the fried shrimp in a large bowl.
Pour the hot honey sauce over the shrimp and toss gently to coat all the shrimp evenly in the sauce.
Serve:
Serve the Hot Honey Fried Shrimp immediately, garnished with extra red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot honey sauce on top.
Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or a tangy aioli, for added flavor.
