Green Bean Casserole Recipe

This Green Bean Casserole is a classic comfort food dish, perfect for holidays, family gatherings, or any time you’re craving something creamy and delicious. With tender green beans, a creamy mushroom sauce, and a crispy onion topping, this dish is as easy to make as it is satisfying to eat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans trimmed and cut in half or 4 cups frozen green beans
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions divided
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Green Beans:
  • If using fresh green beans, boil them in salted water for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside. If using frozen green beans, thaw and drain well.
  • Make the Sauce:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • In a baking dish, combine the green beans, sauce mixture, and 2/3 cup of the crispy fried onions. If desired, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy casserole.
  • Add the Topping:
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the dish and top with the remaining crispy fried onions.
  • Bake:
  • Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
  • Serve:
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy as a side dish to your favorite meals!
