Prepare the Ribs:
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for a more tender result. Use a knife to lift the edge and then peel it off with your fingers.
Rub the ribs with olive oil and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Bake the Ribs:
Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the seasoned ribs on it.
Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil, sealing the edges to create a packet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is starting to pull away from the bones.
Make the Sauce:
While the ribs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder (if using).
Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Glaze the Ribs:
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully open the foil packet.
Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).
Brush a generous amount of the sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated.
Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
Serve:
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
Slice the ribs between the bones using a large knife.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
Tips for Cooking
For even more flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce for a few hours before baking.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ribs are cooked to an internal temperature of 190-203°F (88-95°C) for optimal tenderness.
If you prefer a smokier flavor, you can finish the ribs on a grill for a few minutes instead of the oven.
Baste the ribs with additional sauce during the last 10 minutes of baking for an extra saucy finish.
