Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Spatula
  • Aluminum foil or parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen French fries or homemade fries
  • 1 lb ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 oz provolone cheese shredded
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 4 oz Cheez Whiz optional, for a classic touch
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fries:
  • Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the fries.
  • Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until crispy and golden, following package instructions or your preferred recipe for homemade fries.
  • Cook the Steak and Vegetables:
  • While the fries are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced ribeye steak, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Sauté until softened and caramelized, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Assemble the Fries:
  • Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and set the oven to broil.
  • Arrange the fries on an oven-safe dish or leave them on the baking sheet.
  • Top the fries with the cooked steak, followed by the sautéed peppers and onions.
  • Sprinkle shredded provolone and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top.
  • Melt the Cheese:
  • Place the dish under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
  • Add Cheez Whiz (Optional):
  • If using Cheez Whiz, warm it according to the package instructions and drizzle over the top of the melted cheese.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
